ITS CHINESE NEW YEAR again.

(please read this whole post and imagine that the writer is blabbering away which in fact she really is.)

Yes we will see our relatives.
Yes we will need to respond to uncles and aunties.
Yes we will NEED to eat but
Yes even if we don't want to and is trying our best to curb our diet.
Yes i know we all get ang baos but
Yes even if we hesitate, we STILL want ang baos.more angbaos.
Yes we will gossip the night through
Yes chinese new year is here
Yes we are not dreaming.
Yes and THIS is it!

Its the fourth day of the chinese new year and i FINALLY got over the hangover! ( Not rhyming it on purpose) The past three days i have been having mixed and complicated feelings. On one side, i really look forward to seeing MOST of them. On the other side, i don't really look forward
to seeing SOME of them.

Many are aware of the feeling where you just sit at one corner looking at a group of people laughing and join the laugh while not knowing what is going on!
Many are boycotted by endless repetitions of concerning relatives but find no place to vent their anger but to shout to the toilet bowl.
Many are stupified by the rapid pouring of uncooked stuff into the steamboat yet still inclined to join in the madness and struggle using chopsticks amidst chopsticks to grab the food(cooked or uncooked).
Many or hopefully only me.

Yet I can't deny the fun I get!
When appetites are throbbing for attention as everyone gathered together at the dining table laid with abalone, fish maw, scallops, chickens, ducks, pig liver, golden mushrooms, hotdog, crabmeat etcetera. Where the hot soup of whatever base soothes the bag of screaming acids while you enjoy the fully air-conditioned room.
When once in a while you get to share something you REALLY wanted to share and got APPROVALS and cheeros.
When i can still dash to my computer and watch 花样少年少女 without much inteference as adults usually feel obliged to STAY in the living room. :P

But still,
Throw in the cards, be masked by the steam from your frothing steamboat, swim in your red packets, do anything but go hysterical and mumble yet another time about how "mixed" chinese new year is. Just like what i am doing now.
